DNS Amplification Attack Detection Using Passive DNS Analysis
Míšaný, Daniel ; Bartoš, Václav (referee) ; Kováčik, Michal (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the analysis and detection of DNS Amplification attack which is type of the DoS attack. Introduction of this thesis is focused on fundamental theories involving computer networks, DNS and DoS attacks. The main part of the work deals with the analysis of DNS Amplification attack, design and implementation of detection tool in C++ programming language. The conclusion is devoted to analyzing the results of the detection tool.
The DPDK DNS Probe Application Extension
Doležal, Pavel ; Kučera, Jan (referee) ; Vrána, Roman (advisor)
This master's thesis is focused on extension of the DPDK DNS Probe application that monitors DNS traffic in high speed networks. It presents framework DPDK, which can be used for fast packet processing. General architecture of the DNS system is described as well as details of its components. Basic principles of transport protocol TCP are described. It introduces an effective design and implementation of DNS packet parsing to optimize DPDK DNS Probe's performance. It also introduces a design and implementation of processing DNS messages sent over TCP for export of traffic statistics. The application's performance was tested using a high speed traffic generator Spirent.
Analysis of Captured DNS Traffic
Hmeľár, Jozef ; Kekely, Lukáš (referee) ; Kováčik, Michal (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the analysis of captured DNS traffic. Introduction of this thesis is focused of basic desciption of computer networks , DNS and description of network flows. Then, the work focused on analysis Netflow format, IPFIX and PCAP, the analysis and implementation of tool for analyzing DNS traffic in C++ programming language. The conclusion is devoted to the results of the implemented tools.
